As a Head Professional, one of the most important responsibilities is fostering strong and lasting relationships with club members. A powerful way to build those connections is by sharing rounds of golf together. The game offers a unique setting where conversations flow naturally, personalities reveal themselves, and genuine friendships are often formed. Many of my closest relationships in the industry have started on the golf course, where the shared experience of the game creates common ground and trust.

In recent years, golf trips have become an increasingly popular way to strengthen those relationships and create lasting memories. Whether organized through a third-party travel company or facilitated by a local PGA Section, travel golf has never been more accessible. These trips provide opportunities to go beyond the traditional club setting and offer members truly special experiences. Being able to design and lead unique golf travel opportunities—whether to bucket-list destinations or regional favorites—adds tremendous value to a Head Professional’s role. It allows members to connect with each other and with the professional staff in new ways, reinforcing the sense of community that defines a great club.
